TOGETHER WE BUILD

Over the years, many partnerships have been forged here at St George’s Crypt, at corporate, local authority, local elected representative, church, sporting, media and individual levels.

Corporate partnerships are especially strong through the property, legal and financial sectors. The property sector is very significant in supporting our development function and our connections with firms such as Town Centre Securities, City Living and Brewster Bye Architects go back many years. In the legal sector, we have enjoyed much support from firms such as Eversheds Sutherland, Womble Bond Dickinson, Wrigleys, Lupton Fawcett, DLA Piper, Addleshaw Goddard, and Stewarts Law. In the financial sector, our partnerships have been strong through firms such as BNY Mellon, and Redmayne Bentley.

TOGETHER WE BUILD

Our partnership with Leeds City Council is very strong across many areas of work in the Crypt, including our overnight provision, the development programme, and our alcohol dependency programme. With local elected representatives, we have traditionally had excellent relations with MPs right across our city. We have also welcomed successive Lord Mayors for civic visits, and we have met with Government ministers and senior civil servants on many occasions.

Because of the health needs of our clients we have a very good relationship with the NHS through York Street Health Practice, the city GP for homeless, asylum seekers and refugees. More recently we have also been developing strong relationships with Leeds Clinical Commisioning Group, based around our ambitious plans to deliver health and wellbeing directly into our population.

In relation to the church, as a Christian organisation, we have had relationships with Diocesan Bishops, and senior clergy over many years who see the Crypt as a very significant example of mission work within the Diocese. One of our patrons is the Archbishop of York, Revd. John Sentamu. We also have very good links with the Jewish community and we enjoy good relations with the Muslim, Sikh and Hindu communities.

Sport and personality is a strong area of partnership given Leeds’ and Yorkshire’s reputation as a sporting centre – Leeds Rhinos, Kevin Sinfield, Leeds United, and current world boxing champion all have excellent relationships with the Crypt.

All these relationships are supported by strong and vibrant connections with the academic community of Leeds. Housing five universities, numerous colleges and schools, Leeds is an academic powerhouse fuelling Yorkshire and beyond; we regularly tap into this resource to support and augment the work we do with high quality research and evaluation.

Finally, we have developed excellent relationships with the media at many levels – BBC Yorkshire, ITV Yorkshire, Yorkshire Evening Post, Yorkshire Post, Radio Aire, Real Radio, Made in Leeds are just a number of our media partners developed and nurtured over the years.
